Chic Tropical Baby Shower
Nothing beats a tropical oasis on a frigid March day. Baby showers are such fun events to throw and I jumped at the opportunity to host an intimate baby shower for my dear friend Danielle.
Dave and Danielle spent their baby-moon in Hawaii at the very beginning of her pregnancy and I thought: let’s bring her pregnancy full circle with a chic tropical shower.
Instead of traditional baby gifts we requested guests bring a children’s book. At the event I placed a bin on the coffee table to collect the gifts.
Paperless post had this beautiful tropical leaf design. Which became my jumping off point for all decor.
The mama requested no gifts so we added the request at the bottom for books only to help build baby’s library.
Since the shower was being held at 2 pm on a Sunday, I knew that we wouldn’t need too much food or drink. To make things easy to pick up and pass, I just created small bites and a variety of sweet treats.
I bounced around a few ideas for parting gifts for guests but ended up settling on gorgeous mini white orchids. After running around to collect enough orchids, I wrapped the pots in neutral kraft paper and wrapped in a cream string.
The whole afternoon was beautiful and exactly what a baby shower should be: surrounding the expectant mother with love and support.
Charlie Marks Rubin came into the world 2 weeks early on March 30th. Congrats Danielle & Dave, we can’t wait to watch you grow into amazing parents.
